PDG Chris  Knapp ad Rotary Foundation Chair introduced DGE Steve Dakin.  Steve spoke on Soukup Safety Homes.  He spoke on how these homes have been sent to Haiti after devastating Earthquake of 2010.  These homes will withstand winds of 140 miles an hour.

President Seaba called the meeting to order at 7:05 am.  Gift Wrapping at Coral Ridge Mall will be December 24, 2019 beginning at 8:00 am.  A sign-up sheet will be passed around the next couple of weeks.   There will be no regular meeting that day.
Roger Christians brother-in-law died last week.  Dave Parson and his family received the U of I Spirit Award for having several generations that graduated form the University.  The Foundation Point letters are on the back table for those that have not received them.  Once everyone has their letters the information will be complied and individuals will be contacted on how things will be completed.
Friday is the last day to ride bicycles at Core Fitness( free of charge)for the Ride to End Polio.  John Ockenfels announced that Steve Wienke has been nominated for DGND.  There is a waiting period before it is final.  PDG Ockenfels also had PDG Herb Wilson, PDG Chris Knapp all stand along with DGE Steve Dakin and DGN Alka Khanolkar.  John said that the three PDG's represent the past and Steve and Alka represent the future.  He said" It is unusual to have that many PDG's and future DG's in one room, if there is not a special event."
President Seaba announced that the University of Iowa is interested in beginning  a Rotaract  Club. The students were RYLA students. There will need to be a coordinator to work with the club. DGN Alka is the District Chair for Rotaract.
Kate Sodjka announced that Trivia Night will be January  10, 2020.  The proceeds will go to the Free Medical Clinic.
Deb Dunkhase announced that they have found the doctors for the Cateract surgery this year with the Iowa Most Team.
If anyone has sunglasses to donate, please bring them to the club in the next few weeks.
President Seaba announced that there will be four scholarships for students to go to Xicotepec in 2020.  Our Youth Exchange Student Lara Nicoletti will be going .
Peggy Doerge  announced that the Chili Supper will be December 9th at 6:00 pm.
DGE Dakin continued his presentation saying that Sukup was founded in 1963 by Mary and Eugene Sukup.  The headquarters is in Sheffield, Iowa which is located by Mason City, IA.  They make grain bins, dryers, grain heavy equipment, and steel buildings.  Soukup buildings are in 99 counties, 50 states and 85 countries.
